Is Hitler Coming to a Christian Conference Near You?

The weekend has finally come and the Christian conference you’ve been waiting to attend for months has finally arrived. With your family of 4, you walk in with the kids, check in, and get your exclusive attendee lanyards. The opening session was electric and the main room was radiating with an almost tangible feeling of determination. Determination and a call to bring the country and the world back to Christian value. While waiting for the next session, you are excited to see all the booths and sponsors in attendance, hoping to grab some new material for the upcoming homeschool year. As you go through the aisles, you stumble upon a book stand: Antelope Hill Publishing. As you pan down to their table you are thrown off by the selection of books being sold: Essential Speeches of Adolf Hitler, Blood and Soil, The Rise of the NSDAP, Rise of the Reich, and more. You see flyers that say “Thank you for shopping Pro White” and stickers of Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in mocking fashion. You ask yourself, “What is going on?” Has this becoming the new normal for Christian conferences?
The War for Normal Conference hosted by New Christendom Press (NCP) was held over the weekend of June 11-13 in Ogden, Utah.
Advertised as a conference to instill believers with Christian values as it relates to everyday life. NCP says, “The Christian life is not about wild innovation, radicalism, or utopian fever dreams. No, the Christian life is normal life.”
As the Press’s biggest conference to date, it was set to be pack full of Christian nationalist teaching, business-networking, hymn singing and more. The conference’s hearty atmosphere of likeminded Reformed attendees suddenly shifted when people started passing by Antelope Hill Publishing’s booth.
Decorating the table of books for sale were “taboo” works to say the least. Works from Hitler laid front and center as well has flyers reading “Thanks for shopping Pro White”.
It is obvious how absurd it is to have to explain why it is unacceptable for a Christian conference to promote and partner with those who have beliefs that are openly anti-Semitic and full of hate. There is no place in the Assembly of Jesus to spread around the ideas of those who were responsible for the murder of millions of people due to their race, ethnicity, and even physical/mental capabilities. Yet, for some reason, NCP believed it okay to have such a vendor at their conference.
News quickly spread through online social platforms with Christians shocked by the fact this conference would allow such works of hate to be sold at their conference. NCP leaders delayed any mention of the incident even as publicity grew. No response was made by those at NCP immediately, but that didn’t stop Eric Conn, NCP leader and promoter, from posting on social media:
Once the conference was over and leaders started responding, specifically Eric Conn and Brian Sauvé, it only exasperated the problem.
In an hour long podcast episode titled “The Elephant in the (Conference) Room” on The King’s Hall podcast, Conn and Sauvé chatted back and forth giving reason as to why Antelope Hill was at their conference. You can listen to that episode here.
What is striking is that there is never a denouncement of Hitler, his works being present at their conference, or that Antelope Hill did this without their knowledge. Instead, they defended the publishing company for publishing works others will not and also feigned ignorance to who exactly they were. From the podcast episode, you would think they’ve never even come across Antelope Hill before. Yet, this is a serious downplay given the fact they both own books from the company and Eric Conn said, himself, in the discussion he had read The Sword of Christ published by Antelope Hill. Eric simply states it is a book about “Anti-Zionism.” Below are the last pages of the book summarizing its teachings:
This disgusting material was never denounced by the leaders of NCP. It was promoted and sold at their conference. Eric Conn claimed he read this book and yet also allowed Antelope Hill to be a sponsor at their conference. In an attempt to not look 100% insane, Brian Sauvé in the episode did say he was against Hitler’s actions of murdering the mentally handicap. Oddly enough, Sauvé didn’t say the same about Hitler’s killing of 6 million Jews in the same way. Also of note, Antelope Hill, in the past, has ran commemorative discounts for Hitler’s works on his birthday:
While the term “Christian nationalist” and its adherents can hold many different definitions for what exactly they’re advocating for, oftentimes what comes with it is an underlying amount of anti-semitism and an over expression of why it is not required to be denounced. Why would anti-semitism need to be denounced by men who are okay with and promote ideas such as the Jews (as a people) being the avowed enemy of Christianity.
While many Christians are putting the Jewish people on the top of their dominionist bounty posters, consider the Scripture:
For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
²⁶ And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
²⁷ For this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”
²⁸ Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake; but concerning the election they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
²⁹ For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
(Romans 11:25-29)
It is true that the majority of the Jewish people today reject Jesus as the Messiah (same as the majority of the world), and they are against its message; in this way, those who crucified Jesus in the first century and rejected His message were enemies of the gospel. But, how far from the text comes the idea that the Jewish people are the enemy against Christianity. Christianity is built on a Jewish Messiah and the reason any Gentile is a follower of Jesus today is due to the Jewish messengers at the start of the Assembly who literally died so that Gentiles could hear the good news of Jesus. Paul, in no uncertain terms states that they are loved by God because of the promises he made to their patriarchs in one day. He will save His Nation. They are loved. God has not rejected them for their disobedience in the same way. God has not rejected any Gentile for their disobedience, in Jesus we all have forgiveness, and that is the beautiful unity that God has created.
Those of New Christendom Press are playing a dangerous game. If the Abraham covenant is true, just as it reads, may God have mercy on their souls. I pray they repent and not be found on the wrong side of God’s covenant where He says He will bless those who bless Abraham and his descendants, and curse those who curse them (Genesis 12).
In my book, The Rooted Kingdom, time is dedicated to understanding the rise and danger of anti-semitism amongst Christian churches and groups today, as well as where it comes from. It can be hard to believe for some how certain theological ideas can lead to the discrimination of a group of people for simply being their ethnicity, but it has happened before in history. One needs to look no further than the mid-1800s to see how misinterpretation and misapplication of biblical text had people using the Bible to support the cruelties of slavery in the United States.
When you get certain biblical definitions wrong like: Israel, the Church, the Kingdom, and the like, you wind up not only with bad theology, but bad practice. New Christendom Press, and their leaders such as Eric Conn and Brian Sauvé , hold to a form of supersessionist theology in which the “Church” is the inheritors of the covenants made to the nation of Israel, and you believe the Kingdom is something that comes through the expanding influence of the Church (a Christian eschatology known as Postmillennialism), you open yourself to prejudice and a man-ruled “theocracy” rather than a Christ-ruled theocracy. Once the idea has set that you are the stand-in rulers of the Kingdom, then you believe you have the power to judge the peoples of the world, and any resistance to this Kingdom has to be met with some kind of punishment.
This is not to say all (or even most) Postmillennialists or Covenant theologians are anti-Semitic and discriminate against the Jewish people. Prominent Reformed Covenant Postmillennial theologian James White called out and denounced NCP for their actions.
In believing that God has rejected the Jewish people due to their past ungodliness and their part in crucifying the Lord Jesus, NCP has no problem platforming the works of infamous anti-semites at their “Christ-centered” conferences. If the goal of this movement is to eventually rule the world with their idea of Kingdom ideals, and they’ve bought into the narrative that the Jewish people have control of the majority of media, government, money, and influence, there’s no question as to why they would be enemy number one.
These Christian nationalists are stirring up hatred in the Assembly of the Messiah by bringing hate upon a race (and sometimes multiple races). The slander and blood libel of the Jewish people is not new to the world but has been circulating faster than ever before with our new advancements in social media. There is no longer any necessary qualification to make a claim and get a crowd behind it. A person with a phone and a decent amount of charisma can say almost whatever they’d like and people will believe them. Even today, at the time of writing this I came across a man who makes content about nutrition claiming the Jewish people were responsible for owning 80% of slave trading ships. A single Google search easily disproves this fact, yet it had thousands of likes and shares with multitudes of comments in agreement with disdain toward the Jewish people. Many of these people are self professed believers in a Jewish Messiah.
If the masses of people who claim to know Christ also knew what God thought about Israel, the Jewish people, and the Kingdom, they would be incapable of erring in this way. If they knew that despite Israel’s past and present rebellion to the truth of Jesus (Yeshua is His Hebrew name), God loves Israel and is working things out to bring His nation back to Himself. There are evil Israelites out there just like there are evil people in all ethnic groups, but this didn’t stop God from loving them. So why with the Jewish people would God turn His back on them? God loves the Jewish people, and will keep His promises to them. God also loves Gentiles and the Christian’s assurance that the promise of salvation through Jesus comes from the fact that God is faithful to all His promises.
If your theology leads you toward hate of another people group, you have the wrong theology. There is no place in this world for anti-semitism. New Christendom Press and Antelope Hill are grooming new conservatives into hating the Jewish people under the guise of right-wing Christian values. Believers need to stand up against this hatred and do the most Christlike thing we can do, speak truth in world of lies. It’s easy to make the Jews a scapegoat for our problems in our attempt to spread the gospel if we don’t care what the Bible says.
“Thus says the Lord, ‘If My covenant for day and night stand not, and the fixed patterns of heaven and earth I have not established, then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, not taking from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.’ ””
